Jesus dictated this message with me years ago but it is just as appropriate now as ever. It addresses his birth and Christmas as well as religion and the holidays in general. It is a good message for all no matter what religion or holiday practices and celebrations.
Do you think I care if you celebrate Christmas? It was not a holiday of my choosing nor was it really in honor of me. It was a falsehood. But, that matters not.
It does not matter the original intent, but for those who celebrate my birth, I thank you. It is a holiday and tradition like many others, created with mixed intent.
What serves me, however, is that you celebrate your love and light at this time. Enjoy the light pouring into the planet at this time to lift you up.
Do not use this time to think of what you have or don’t have or what you are getting or missing out on. Think clearly of your motives. What are you celebrating and why? Are you doing things out of obligation? Why? What are you avoiding or gaining?
Are you living your truth? Are you having fun? Fun is underrated. If you aren’t having fun, create something fun at all times but especially for these upcoming holidays. The more fun you have, the more light you have and can share.
This is the time of light. Hanukkah is a time of light. You can light a candle each day and think of me remembering that I was and still am considered Jewish.
I didn’t convert. I am what I am. I am one with God and at no time needed religion to be one with God. Nor do you. But if it helps brings you closer to God as it should, by all means, relish the ritual, enjoy your traditions. But, remember this, it is the relationship you have with God that matters and not the religion. God lives within each of you equally no matter what you practice. If your practice includes love, you are allowing God to express throughout you and you become a gift of God to the world.
So this holiday season, express your gift of love to all. For all need more love. The more love you share with others, the more love and light will be demonstrated and experienced in the world.
That, my dear friends, is the greatest gift of all.
