Sundays for many have been God’s day. For others, Saturdays are their religious days. However, aside from the religious aspect of the day, let’s discuss the day of Sunday, The day of the week when traditionally many have visited with friends and family, rested, relaxed, etc.

What happened to those days? Those days seem long gone for many in the hustle and bustle of life. What if we brought back the concept of a true Sunday? A Sunday like it used to be for many. A day of relaxation, reflection and recreation. What if you gave those days back to yourself? What are the possibilities of that?

Well, let me tell you. If you gave yourself anything, that is a true gift. If you give yourself the gift of time that Sundays used to provide, you will feel greater peace and fulfillment. Many of you fill your days with “to dos” that go on forever. You never truly relax because your head is filled with obligation after obligation, whether real or imagined. Why do I say imagined? Because many of you fill your lives with meaningless activity. Activity that when all is said and done means nothing in the scheme of things.

You fill endless hours with activities and for what? To keep up with the Joneses? To be something someone else believes you should be? To do something that someone else feels you should do?

What if you stopped for a day and truly reflected on who you are and what you are doing and why you are doing it? Many of you would realize you are nothing more than a bunch of hamsters running in circles. Why bother stopping? Because if you did, you would finally realize how ridiculous you all appear to the rest of us from our vantage point which is to see how really pointless alot of your activity actually is to you or anyone else.

You need do very little in comparison as to what previously had to be done before in light of modern technology. But modern technology has become a crutch rather than a tool. Begin to use it as a tool for the tasks you are truly meant to accomplish this lifetime and you will have a wonderful opportunity to fulfill meaningful goals in less time.

But many of you get involved in meaningless activity that serves no purpose. If you begin to take Sundays off as your day of rest and the time to reflect, you have the possibility of getting in touch with what is true and purposeful for you. With all the clutter of activity, how can you begin to sift through what is meaningful for you? Don’t you feel it is time for you to reflect on your own life and give yourself your own life back to yourself?

At least Sundays?
