So often people begin bargaining with God when they are in trouble. They ask God to help them get out of a situation and often by trying to bribe Him. They offer something in return for God’s help.
Why do you suppose they feel the need to bargain? Guilt. They know within their own hearts they do not feel deserving of God’s good graces due to their past thoughts and behaviors.
You cannot bargain with God. You can choose God. You can commit to God. But you cannot bargain with God. He isn’t the bargaining kind. However, if he sees your earnest attempt to repent, see the light and release the errors of your ways, God will forgive and help you.
If you demand His help, He will not necessarily give it. If you turn your heart and soul over to Him, however, He is more than glad to help you. It is your choice; always your choice.
